Luke Van Der Mark

Southwest Regional Director

Luke began his aviation career back in 2004, working various front-line positions from ground-handling to fuelling to dispatch operations. In 2007, he took on the role of Airport Manager for the Brampton-Caledon Airport where he remained until 2012. Luke then went on to manage Porter FBO at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport until making the move to Windsor-Essex in the fall of 2016. Luke is currently employed at the Windsor International Airport where he holds the role of Manager of Operations. Working across various segments has afforded Luke a unique perspective on how industry-partners work in a harmonized approach to ensure safe and efficient air travel.

Joining YQG was a welcome change for Luke, which brought him back to what he is most passionate about – Airport Operations. During his tenure, Luke has been involved in several airport improvement projects including a full rehabilitation of the secondary runway, inclusive of electrical, rehabilitation of Apron I, construction of a large FBO, and two large hangar expansions. Additionally, Luke has been instrumental in the modernization of the airport’s SMS and Operational Programs.

Luke holds an Advanced Diploma in Aviation Management from Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology, as well as a Private Pilot License with Night Rating. Luke sits on the YQG SMS Committee, H&S Committee, and is a participant with the OSTA (CAC) committee.

Luke is honoured to serve on the AMCO Board of Directors and is excited to help influence positive change across the aviation industry.
